YOUTH DIALOGUE
THEME: CIVIC EDUCATION ON CONSTITUTION AND CONSTITUTION MAKING
TO BE HELD ON 31ST JUNE 2010
OBJECTIVE OF THE DIALOGUE
The main aim of conducting the dialogue is to introduce civic education to the youths and also to help them understand the issues that are in the draft constitution and their roles as citizen. Especially in the upcoming referendum.

YIKE is manned by a staff of 11 i.e. the Executive Director, Programmes Coordinator, Finance and Administration Manager, Training and Research programme Officer, Youth Desk Coordinator, Resource Centre Officer, Procurement and Logistics Officer, Field Coordinator, HIV/AIDS Programme Officer, Assistant Youth Desk Coordinator, Systems Administrator and Office Assistant.
Yike Resource Center
Youth Information Centre (Resource Centre): With collaboration with Nairobits, YIKE has set up the Youth Information Centre where we offer ICT training at subsidized rates as well as a facility where the youth and the surrounding community can access information from the internet. The Resource centre also provides Library services for books and magazines,recreational activities like play station games,scrabble and chase.
HIV/AIDS AND BEHAVIOUR CHANGE PROGRAM
YIKE in partnership with GOAL Kenya is implementing an Awareness and Behavior Change Project targeting youth and most at risk populations (MARP's) in the informal settlement of Mukuru, Dandora and Kariobangi/Korogocho. The project's main objectives is to increase the uptake of VCT, Family Planning and STI treatment services among the youth in the target area. The project which started in March 2010 is scheduled to run until March 2011. The projects activities include holding community outreach events, Peer Education Trainings and Sporting Events.

2010 has been a great year for YIKE.the organization has experienced changes that makes it even a better place to serve the youth and community.new staff have come on board to bring a hybrid expertise in various departments.
Restructuring
It is an exciting year for us as Youth Initiatives Kenya ,community as well as staff members as we embark on expansion and renovations. And with this there have been new developments in terms of management, infrastructure, man power and a new website. In fact this bl.og page is as a result of the new resolutions.
